BA in Outdoor Recreation from Western Colorado University Hometown: Crested Butte CO (by way of Standish ME, Brightwood OR, Sandy UT, and Reno NV) Favorite Quote: “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” – Albert Einstein How did you come to work at the ASC? My career path started in event production, primarily oriented in competitive disciplines that I was already pursuing in my free time – mostly freeskiing and mountain biking. What started as an extension of my personal interests later evolved into several years of producing sporting events across the spectrum of skiing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, motorsports, and more. Mutual connections across the production world introduced me to the world of filmmaking, and I subsequently spent the next 18 years splitting my time producing ski films with Matchstick Productions and then later running my own commercial production company. Those experiences forced me to wear MANY different hats over the years, and along the way I found that the areas in which I excelled could be applied to serving a greater good than myself. That realization ultimately led me to Adaptive, an organization that I’ve long admired from the sidelines. What is your favorite part about working for the ASC? I’m excited to fill a specialized role alongside a like-minded team of experienced professionals. It’s inspiring to know that the work being done at Adaptive is genuinely changing peoples’ lives for the better, and I’m eager to help contribute to that effort. What’s a fun fact about you? Coached the CB Nordic junior biathlon program for four seasons, helping to make an obscure sport a little bit less obscure.
