Hometown: La Cañada, CA College and Degree: Pomona College / USC - Finance and Philosophy Certifications: PSIA Adaptive Level 3, AIARE (Avalanche) Level 1 Favorite Quotes: “Well done is better than well said.” – Benjamin Franklin “In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.” – Albert Einstein What led you to join the ASC team? After my first season in CB working in the ski area rental shop, I wanted to stay another season (just one more!) and teach skiing. At that time, the Adaptive Sports Center (then the Crested Butte Physically Challenged Ski Program) was across the way from the rental shop and I found the participants coming in and out of the program infinitely more interested in getting amongst it than those going to regular ski school. I was hired the next year (1991) as an instructor and equipment tech. What is your favorite part about working for the ASC? I love seeing the positive impact that people experience when facing and succeeding in outdoor adventures that challenge them. What’s a fun fact about you? I never met a pie I didn’t like… everything from continuing my great grandma Louise’s apple pie recipe to every type of pizza pie out there, they are all fascinating to create… and delicious!
